and free Interior Upgrades to people who got screwed waiting for their 2015 Hellcat when they were forced to get back inline for the 2016.
Would you take the 850HP Super Snake over the 707HP Hellcat?
Maybe?
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:21 |

Nah I want a Hellcat.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:24 |

Ummm no, but then again I don't even want a Hellcat, would rather have a Z/28
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:25 |
|
But Super Snake so much faster.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:25 |
|
Id still take the Hellcat honestly
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:25 |
|
But that’s not the offer.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:26 |

But the Shelby weighs less.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:28 |

HELLCAT.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:29 |
|
Don’t care. I hate the persona that Mustangs have and the fact that unless you’re a car guy you can’t Really tell the difference between a V6 a GT or Shelby.
I will never own a mustang.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:29 |
|
I’d take the Snake but that hood scoop looks terrible.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:30 |
|
Hellcat.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:33 |
|
Hellcat. Out of the Yankee trio, my mind is with the Mopars (they still called Mopars?).
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:34 |
|
New wheels and I’d take the snake..
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:39 |

I read that article, and kept on thinking, “Ooh, sick burn Shelby. APPLY WATER TO AREA OF BURN, DODGE”
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:39 |
|
No thanks, I'd rather have the Hellcat.0
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:40 |
|
I would
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:41 |
|
And then Ford goes- “Guys, shut the fuck up. GT350R *drops mic*”
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:43 |
|
Then you must have weird eyes because it’s super easy to tell them apart.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:43 |
|
That’s true for all pony cars, not just the mustang. The people who don’t notice the difference won’t care anyway.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:46 |
|
Meh Hellion Mustang for me. Look stock, but kills Hellcats.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:48 |
|
Sleeper Level: Good.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:48 |

Super Snake sounds like something you could get in trouble for showing to the neighbor’s kids.
Hellcat sounds like someone stuffed a fighter jet into a car the size of an SUV.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:50 |
|
Again not as easy for a non car guy. And they still have a terrible persona that id never want to be part of
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:50 |
|
Still doesn’t change the persona and following they have
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:54 |
|
Not uber v8 Volvo 240 wagon sleeper level, but good nonetheless
![]() 08/14/2015 at 17:55 |
|
Same with the Challenger, the SE, R/T, STR 392, and Hellcat all look alike.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 18:11 |
|
Mustang, it is going to be more expensive but, it’s lighter, more powerful, and there is no need to deal with price gouging Dodge dealers. Win, win, win.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 18:44 |
|
But at least they don’t have the mustang persona and vibe to them.
There’s a certain attitude and person that drives and wants a mustang. I don’t like that
![]() 08/14/2015 at 18:48 |
|
Not sure what you mean by ‘persona’, since that’s something only a living person can have. We anthropomorphize cars around here all the time I know, but that’s mostly in jest. A car can only have what we humans are willing to impart to them. They are only machines.
I’m getting the feeling that you know of some serious douchebags who might also be mustang drivers. It’s true that d-bags drive Mustangs, but it’s also true that d-bags of all size shape and fart type exist in every popular car subculture. Cars can’t really be blamed for the actions of their human owners since they have no agency of their own.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 19:00 |
|
Can you describe it? Because I have no idea on what that even is. I also am a Mustang owner and avid car guy so i don’t want to fall into that ever the type is.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 19:04 |

And 20K more...
![]() 08/14/2015 at 19:11 |
|
All you need to do is get the base GT Premium with stick and your golden that’s what...35?
![]() 08/14/2015 at 19:15 |

+ 54k for the Shelby work, makes it 90K vs
maybe
70k for the Hellcat.

I can describe it for Justin, and I can tell you exactly what it is. It’s called the mustang high school syndrome. the mustang is by far the best-selling muscle car, and most teens know what a mustang is.
Even a typical teen girl, who doesn’t know anything more than the fact that cars go vroom and drink gas, knows what “A STANG” is.
That results in a lot of teenagers going out and getting mustangs as their cars (especially in well-off places like southern florida, or California, or coastal WA state) and then go around driving them like they’re always drag-racing someone.
That’s the mustang stigma that comes with mustangs when you’re in high school. It’s a cool kid’s car, but it’s also kind of a douche’s car.
Now I’m not saying that the mustang is not a good performer, it’s an excellent car; and even in V6 form outpaces me and the GLI easily; but it’s the stigma of it that ruins it for me, and for Justin as well. same thing goes with a Honda civic hatch, or a lifted truck.
that's the reason why I bought my GLI over a V6 Premium stang with a 6-speed, and all the options (that was marked down by $5k)
![]() 08/14/2015 at 20:43 |
|
There’s still a reason mustangs get shit on so much by virtually everyone.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 20:50 |
|
So really it’s the Boy Racer stigma that goes with the car?
I was in HS when I got my 2008 V6 and did some mods to make it look like a mix of 1969 and 1968. My idea behind getting and wanting one was because it was my mom’s and dad’s first cars.
I also won’t lie I knew of a similar stigma with most cars including the mustang but that’s just the boy race stigma. It faded for me when I got behind a Coyote and was scared shitless from it’s power.
Also for me I try and live above the Stigma of the Mustang. Also in poor taste, I bash other Stang owners who keep it going and I also do get a little spirited when getting off the line at a light....
![]() 08/14/2015 at 20:53 |

Well maybe more because Dealer markups on the Hellcat.
Really the Shelby is a better overall car because of Power to Weight Ratio is greater.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 21:41 |
|
1. You have 850+, but that’s a typo as everywhere else is saying 750+ (even Shelby’s site)
2. Plenty of Hellcats have left the lot at MSRP
3. Factory warranty, 5yr/100,000 miles powertrain (I feel that’s kinda important with a forced induction car)
4.Throw an extra $20K at the Hellcat and void your warranty (like you do with the Shelby) and you’ll have more than 750+ HP and probably a better power to weight ratio
![]() 08/14/2015 at 21:49 |

Yes there is! And that reason being; people love to hate things for irrational reasons.
Put “[whatever car/manufacturer you want here]’s suck” into google and you’ll get a treasure trove of bitterness and outrage for whatever car you fancy. Miatas? Don’t have to go far at all to find out why they suck. Wagons? Soulless. Crossovers are better then, right? Nope, only stupid people buy those. Prius? Your car is bad, and you should feel bad. Okay then a coal rolling bro truck is the way to go, right? Trucks are also bad, and you should feel bad. BMWs? How about no. Actually...just... stay away from anything made by Germany. And Japan. And the United States. So, most of earth’s cars. Yep. People shit on them(and they’re definitely not doing that for no reason), so they’re all bad. Stay away from them.
But not Volvo! Everyone loves a volvo, right? Well...
It doesn’t matter what people shit on because they are doing that everyday all the time to every make and manufacturer as we speak. People love to hate. It’s silly to try to blame the cars for that because they have no agency and no ability to intervene in human affairs. They are only machines.

Shelby doesn't void warranty, I know a super snake owner, the 850HP is an optional pack you can add.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 22:30 |
|
The 750 hp version is 54k+ a Mustang, how much is the 850 hp version?
http://www.shelby.com/buildone/2015S…
I couldn’t find an 850 hp version on Shelby’s site. I was also not able to find anything definitive about a warranty. I’ve seen 1/12,000 and 3/30,000 refrenced, but hardly a factory warranty. Any tuner can make rediculous hp numbers, Hennessy’s got a 1,200 hp Viper, but the whole making sure the car last 100k miles is kind of a big deal.
Just checked, Hennessey’s got an 850 kit for the Challenger, couldn’t find the price, but there’s a comparable car. Also, the only thing going on with this announcement is that someone who was going to spend 70k on a car now has the option to spend 90k on a smaller car with a “free” 3k interior upgrade.
![]() 08/14/2015 at 23:07 |

Weird I guess the 850 is only available in the 2013-2014. My buddy who owns a 2013 Super Snake has full ford warrenty along with a shelby one still on his car.
![]() 08/15/2015 at 00:29 |

does the Shelby upgrade include a LS motor?
![]() 08/15/2015 at 00:58 |

No.
![]() 08/15/2015 at 02:52 |

I rode in that very car. The power is immense and it grips like crazy. I’d love to go more into it but I don’t feel like typing to much, simply put, it’s awesome.
The best part? Mechanically it’s just a bunch of Ford Racing parts, a supercharger and some great tires. Anyone can make a regular GT like it if they don’t care for the Shelby bits. It wouldn’t cost a crazy amount of money.
Yet I'd still have a GT350 over it.
![]() 08/15/2015 at 05:29 |

it’s not so much the boy racer stigma, as it is what these cars represent. at my school, owning a well-done mustang makes you a somebody. The one girl with a 2015 stang (an auto ecoboost) usually had to deal with at least one guy every few days asking her about how fast it is, etc.
A stang in high school here makes you a badass, no matter if you actually are one or not. because of that, people start disliking you. The idea that you think that you’re better than them (which sadly, is the mentality of a lot of stang owners here) is what leads to these cars having that image, and for the most part they can’t shake it.
I will say this though: I drove a 2011 coyote stang, and it was fucking awesome. I am slightly considering a 2016 GT in a year or so
![]() 08/15/2015 at 11:59 |

Ya in my HS people has M3’s and SRT8’s and Camaro SS’s and they carried that Stigma. Really no one got a Mustang GT anymore at my HS after a kid killed himself in one after prom with his GF and best friend in the car, killing them as well. But Ya you just have to walk above those people when you own one in that situation. That’s what my buddy and myself did, he bought a C3 Vette, mind you the thing was stupid ragged, and I had a V6 Mustang and people kept asking us to race their hondas.....and luckily we had a drag strip that had a run wha you brung night and I wound up smoking most people and have proof.
![]() 08/15/2015 at 15:09 |
|
yeah, but that’s the thing. because of that stigma against, say, an SRT8, you’d rather have the stang.
For me it’s vice versa. the stangs are the stigma-cars.
Also going to a school whose mascot is “the mustang” (yep, we’re the RHS mustangs) doesn’t help. seriously. for our homecoming game, we have a parade of mustangs and F150's, supplied by a local dealer, go around our track during half-time on the game
![]() 08/15/2015 at 16:55 |
|
Oh god...ya I can see how hate can be formed then
![]() 08/16/2015 at 02:22 |
|
yep. basically :P
on a serious note though; I do like and respect mustangs. I’ve driven my fair share of them (ranging from a '88 supercharged fox, an '06 4.0, a '11 3.7, a '14 3.7 a '11 coyote, and a '15 ecoboost) but when I was buying my first car, I couldn't bring myself to buy one. maybe as my next car I get a coyote. who knows?
![]() 08/16/2015 at 11:40 |
|
Well look at like the old brembo brake or track pack cars good ones and cheap now as well
![]() 08/16/2015 at 15:04 |
|
oh no, I’d be going with a new 2016 GT Premium, or a new scat pack Challenger. I know I’m
extremely
lucky to be in a position to basically order one, and I know I don’t deserve it at all. hopefully all goes well in the next year until I get one
![]() 08/16/2015 at 17:25 |
|
Ya, aim for the 2016 Perf Pack GT, because racecar.
![]() 08/16/2015 at 18:08 |
|
yep, it's in the ballpark! you'll know when I get it ;)
![]() 08/16/2015 at 18:23 |

I also just got a job so I may be able to afford a S197 GT500 sometime soon maybe
![]() 08/16/2015 at 18:44 |
|
hahah that would be awesome! shoot for the 662hp ones, because you absolutely, positively need to be able to burn rubber in 1-4 every time you drive
![]() 08/16/2015 at 19:00 |
|
Lol Na I’m looking fro a 550hp one, because you can get them almost sub 30K
![]() 08/17/2015 at 04:29 |
|
hmmm.....
if they’re that cheap, why should I get a new GT?
how daily-able do you thing GT500's are?
![]() 08/17/2015 at 10:27 |
|
Daily GT500 is a good idea, they are like coyotes just a bit more nose heavy also a BOSS 302 can be had for mid to lower 30s for a 2012
![]() 08/19/2015 at 14:13 |
|
but doesn't a GT500 get like 13 MPG in the city? I do most of my driving around town....
![]() 08/19/2015 at 15:50 |
|
It can get 15mpg it gets enough to avoid gas guzzler tax. Also as I said BOSS 302 is a good option
